Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Position Summary:
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) within a range of public school environments, including elementary, middle, and high schools. The BCBA will work closely with students, teachers, support staff, and administrators to enhance student behavior, promote positive learning environments, and address individual behavioral challenges. Additionally, the BCBA will attend Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to provide insights, collaborate on intervention plans, and ensure that services are aligned with the educational and behavioral needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive FBAs to identify the underlying causes of student behaviors that impede learning.
- Collect and analyze data through direct observations, interviews, direct measure, and review of student records to develop a complete understanding of each student’s behavior.
- Utilize assessment results to guide the development of effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that are tailored to the student’s unique needs. Collaborate with school district staff to develop BIPs, as requested.
IEP Attendance:
- Participate in IEP meetings as a behavioral expert to provide guidance, updates, and recommendations related to behavior management and support.
- Collaborate with the IEP team, including teachers, school psychologists, special education coordinators, and parents, to align goals and interventions with each student’s IEP.
- Document and communicate progress, adjustments, and outcomes related to the student’s behavioral goals in the IEP.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Certification: Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students in a public school setting, with a strong background in conducting FBAs and developing BIPs.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with special education laws, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and a thorough understanding of the IEP process.
- This role requires travel between multiple school locations within the district and may involve working with students across a range of grade levels. Candidates must have reliable transportation.
Skills:
- Expertise in data collection, analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Extensive experience conducting FBAs in public school settings, at all grades
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, school personnel, and families.
- Proficiency in crisis management and de-escalation techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with diverse student populations: Demonstrated experience working with students from varied backgrounds, including students with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, emotional disturbances, and other behavioral challenges.
- Bilingual Skills: Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- 1099 Contractor
- Hourly rate: $40 to $60 per hour
- This position does not qualify for benefits
- This position requires in-person work near North Andover, Massachusetts
